Domegos Update Released - Various Website Improvements

It's been quite a while since the last post, but we kept us busy with improving Domegos and have been working on an Update, which we released today. For the update we improved the user review system, the login procedure, the listing page (the tabs in the listing page do not require the page to load anymore), listing features (e.g. we added an optional function that allows owners not to display their address on the listing) and many other things.

We continue to improve Domegos and already started working on the next update.

Domegos Country Network Explained

Domegos is a truly global website project. Currently, our country network consists of:
            • domegos.com: Targeted at U.S. renters and the Rest of the World
            • domegos.co.uk: Targeted at renters from the UK
            • domegos.de: Targeted at German users
            • domegos.at: Targeted at Austrian users
            • domegos.it: Targeted at Italian users
            • and many more countries are to be added soon this year ...
How do property owners benefit from this?

If you list your vacation rental on domegos.com, your listing will automatically appear on all other country network sites - also for free of course ;) .

Also, there is only one listing management system. Hence, every change you make on your listing will be automatically updated on all country network sites, as soon as you click the save button. Yes, as easy as that.

It is also self-explanatory that with this integrated country network we can strongly leverage the marketing of your vacation rental.

How do renters benefit from this?

Renters benefit from our country network that each website is localized to their culture (language, currency, destinations, etc.). Also they have greater choice of properties than other sites, as they also find listings, that would not have been listed, say on an English speaking website (such as is the case with many German vacation rentals for example). Domegos is a one-stop venue for vacation rentals for all around the world.

The internet has made global integration easier, and we seek to utilize it to the benefit of our users .

Domegos.de released!

Domegos is increasing its global reach! Today Domegos launched the German version of the directory service. All vacation rentals listed on Domegos.com or Domegos.co.uk will be automatically listed for FREE on Domegos.de. In other words, an additional market of 80 million potential renters will be added to your vacation rental’s current target market. Pretty good, isn’t it?

But that’s simply the Domegos way: One single database of vacation rentals all around the world, marketed globally on Domegos.com AND locally on our country sites such as Domegos.co.uk or Domegos.de.

Also, with our German presence we are welcoming all vacation rentals from Germany to use our free service.

Finally a little language lesson for today: "Ferienwohnung" is German for Holiday Apartment and "Ferienhaus" stands for Holiday House.

The Italian version is coming soon ...

P.S.: Here's our press release about the release of Domegos.de, however only in German ...

Official ALPHA version released!

For the past several months we were hiding our release from the public and keeping the alpha inofficial. We did this in order to thoroughly test our system and make improvements, based on user feedback. Today, however, is the day we make it official to the world: We officially launch our Alpha version of Domegos.com!

The official Alpha version entails important system improvements:
  • We added the function to have 2 more seasons (Very Low Season and Very High Season). This means you can use up to 5 seasons to define your rate policy.

  • The Property Management System now is able to accept "Weekly Rates" and 2 "Custom Period Rates" (e.g. 30 days) on top of the "Nightly Rate". This change also replaces the Long Stay Discount. Now you can also assign a different nightly rate for each weekday. If required, please update your properties' rates policy accordingly.

This change makes our property rates system the most flexible and extensive on the web!

Of course, our listing service will stay FREE!

We are planning to release the BETA version in early 2008 with even more features and in more languages.

At this point, we would like to give a special thanks to our customers who joined us prior to this release. Cheers.

P.S.: Here's our press release about the launch:

Hello, World!

This is the first post of the Domegos Blog which we decided to establish in order to post news, updates and tips and tricks all about our system. It is also a place where we'd like to interact with our users and listen to their comments, suggestions and criticisms. On the one hand we constantly work to improve our system on our own and we would like to communicate these improvements to you. On the other hand we are always keen on learning from you and listening to you and improve our system according to your user experience. Sounds like it's going to be fun, doesn't it? :)
